"The Key of Destiny"
Number XIII of Organization XIII
"The Key of Destiny"
Nicknames:
Buddy (Axel)
Tiger and Kiddo (Xigbar)
Age:
Physical Age: 1 year (he was recently stolen from Sora again, making him reborn)
Appearance Age: 16 years; same as Sora
Gender:
Male
Species:
Nobody (High Intelligence; Human Form)
Society Position:
Nobody of Sora, Neutral, Keyblade Wielder
Powers:
Roxas contains very similar magic abilities to Sora, however, he currently knows fewer powers than he did at the end of Kingdom Hearts II. Since Roxas was reborn and had his memory was erased, he only truly knows how to use powers the Organization has taught him. But he has the ability and potential to be able to learn all the powers Sora knows.
I chose to give Roxas most of the magic abilities he knew in Days.
Magic Abilities
Known abilities will be in bold, and abilities that will be learned through role play will be italicized.
Flame Element
Fire is a type of flame spell which consists of creating a ring of fire around the user or shooting a ball of flame at an opponent. This spell is best used for close range attacks to knock enemies back.
Fire: Roxas learns this ability first. He is able to create a small ring of flames by spinning his Keyblade. This ring only lasts a few seconds and causes minimal damage to high powered enemies.
Usage: Every other posting turn.
Fira: He is able to shoot a homing ball of fire from his Keyblade. This ball of fire follows the enemy and explodes on contact.

Firaga: He shoots a very large ball of flames from his Keyblade that climbs into the air and creates an arc. It can lock onto targets. It explodes on contact with the ground or enemies.
Usage: Every 3 posting turns.
Blizzard Element
Blizzard is a type of water spell which consists of shooting shards of ice. This spell is best used to attack opponents who are out of reach, but it is also useful when knocking them back.
Blizzard: Roxas can shoot a small shard of ice from his Keyblade. This shard has homing properties.
Usage: Every other posting turn.
Blizzara: Roxas a shoot a ball of ice from his Keyblade that explodes into a tiny snow storm upon contact.
Usage: Every 2 posting turns.
Blizzaga: Roxas can set up a trap of ice that explodes in a violent blizzard when approached.
Usage: Every 5 posting turns.
Thunder
Thunder is a type of electric spell which consists of large bolts of lightning raining from the heavens and crashing to the ground. This spell is best used to attack the entire battle field and it will hit anything within the user’s sight.
Thunder: Roxas casts a single lightning bolt from his Keyblade that only strikes in front of him.
Usage: Every other posting turn.
Thundara: Roxas casts multiple lightning bolts around his body from his Keyblade.
Usage: Every 2 posting turns.
Thundaga: Roxas casts a single, large lightning bolt directly on his opponent.
Usage: Every 5 posting turns.
Cure
Cure is a type of healing spell which consists of an invisible power that restores the user’s health. This spell is best used when the user has some time away from enemies to cast it. This spell also takes up much of the user’s MP, so it can only be used sparingly.
Cure: Leaves burst from the tip of Roxas’ Keyblade and heals very minor injuries.
Usage: Every 2 posting turns.
Cura: A circle of leaves and clovers appear around Roxas and heal stamina as well as minor injuries.
Usage: Every 5 posting turns.
Curaga: Beautiful, yellow, bell-shaped flowers appear above Roxas and heal the majority of injuries and stamina. Fatal injuries are much more difficult to heal. Broken bones will not be healed.
Usage: Every 10 posting turns.
Magnet
Magnet is a type of ‘draw/gathering’ spell which consists of a magnetic orb that is released into the air and attracts enemies to the center. This spell is best used when opponents are far away, or when there are many opponents attacking at once. The spell itself will do very little damage, but when the enemies are drawn closer to the user, they can be attacked with physical assaults. This is known as advanced magic.
Magnet: Roxas creates two orbs of magnetic energy that picks up small enemies and objects. They get drawn closer to him which leaves them open to attacks.
Usage: Every 2 posting turns.
Magnera: Slightly stronger than Magnet.
Usage: Every 5 posting turns.
Magnega: Slightly stronger than Magnera.
Usage: Every 10 posting turns.
Aero
Aero is a type of wind/defense spell which creates a barrier of winds around the user and reduces damage taken from enemy attacks. The most powerful form of this spell causes damage to enemies that touch it. This spell is best used when the user is fighting a difficult opponent, or really any of the time is a great time.
Aero: Roxas creates a small barrier of wind around himself by swirling his Keyblade around his body. This attack blocks small projectiles and only lasts one posting turn unless Roxas is injured.
Usage: Every other posting turn; lasts only one posting turn.
Aerora: Roxas creates a large swirl of wind around himself that sucks in things around him and damages them.
Usage: Every 3 posting turns.
Aeroga: Roxas creates a very large swirl of wind that lifts everything around him for one post. The wind blocks most attacks.
Usage: Every 10 posting turns.
Darkness Abilities
- Corridor of Darkness
Roxas can transport himself almost anywhere with the use of a corridor of darkness. Roxas lifts his left hand and a swirling mass of darkness appears before him. All he must do is step into it and think of where he would like to go. Roxas can not use this power often as the darkness attempts to take over his body each time he does. This is also why he is unable to perform any other powers of darkness. Becasue Roxas' memories were erased, he is way too inexperienced to use any darkness powers.
In the games, Roxas was even unable to use the Corridor of Darkness for a period of time.
Physical Abilities[/u]
Dual-Wielding Physical Attacks –
- Cross Swing
- Horizontal Swing
- Consecutive Swing
- Aerial Thrust
- Aerial Upswing
- Spin Swing
Roxas can also summon Samurai Nobodies.
Appearance:
Battle Style and Abilities:
Samurai Nobodies will wait to be attacked before they attack. They gracefully slash at their opponents with their long swords. During battle, a stand off can occur between a Samurai and its opponent. If the opponent strikes before the Samurai makes it move, then the Samurai is defeated, but if the Samurai makes its move first, it can deal quiet a bit of damage.
Stats:
High Attack
Low Defense
Roxas can summon up to 2 Samurais per battle.
Weapon:
Roxas wields two Keyblades; one which represents Sora’s Keyblade and one that represents Ventus’ Keyblade which was obtained at Xion’s death. Both Keyblades are originally Kingdom Keys that quickly transformed into the Oblivion and Oathkeeper Keyblades once they were united. Roxas is able to wield two Keyblades because he is a part of Sora and he posses Ventus' heart.
The Keyblades act as homing devices which attracts many Heartless to him. He is constantly defending himself against them.
Kingdom Key (Light)
The Kingdom Key is Roxas' default Keyblade form. It is shared with Sora, Riku and Xion and Mickey wields its brother; Kingdom Key D. This keychain is not the strongest Keyblade Roxas can wield, it can bring out his true power. Roxas can wield 2 Kingdom Keys are one time.
Oathkeeper Keyblade
Roxas' first Kingdom Key transformed into the Oathkeeper after he absorbed Xion. This Keyblade represents Sora's connection to Kairi. Roxas' Oathkeeper has Kairi's good luck charm as its Keychain, not the shell charm that is Sora's Keychain. The end of the Keyblade is in the shape of the Kanji for "light". This Keyblade increases the user's magic power and can deal critical blows.
Oblivion Keyblade
Roxas' second Kingdom Key transformed into the Oblivion after he absrobed Xion. This Keyblade represents Sora's connection to Riku whom can also wield the Oblivion. The end of the Keyblade is in the shape of the Kanji for "darkness". This Keyblade decreases the user's magic ability and is very powerful.
When used together, Roxas' magic ability is not affected but his strength and agility is slightly increased.
Roxas dual-wielding the Oathkeeper and Oblivion Keyblades.
Appearance:
Roxas has short/medium length, dirty blond hair that spikes up over to the right of his head (left if you were to look straight at him). A few longer spikes fall on his forehead and barely miss covering his eyes. His eyes are a very deep blue which are comparable to Sora's. His face a short and slightly round, giving him a younger "boy-ish" look.
Within the boundaries of the Organization, Roxas wears the official ‘club’ attire, a long black coat. This coat seems to be crafted from a type of leather or polyester (note the look from ‘Deep Dive’) which makes the entire piece very warm, yet sleek and forceful. The length is from just below the collar bone to the bottom of the ankles, barely escaping contact with the ground. A large, silver, two-way zipper holds the coat together and is usually unzipped at the bottom to the crotch. The sleeves extend all the way to the knuckles on the black gloved hands. The hood, when pulled up, covers the entire face and shrouds it in blackness, but when down, it rests easily on the wearer’s shoulders and upper back. The pull strings of the hood are a coiled silver rope ended with smooth triangular beads. These beads are highly detailed, but the details are difficult to make out. Connecting each side of the coat over the zipper, just below the hood, is a necklace type ornament. This is connected by silver claps and is a long chain which ends on the chest. There are four spool-like silver beads on the chain. Under the warm coat, one would like to think that Roxas does not wear a shirt. No one knows the truth of this, but one can only dream. Beside a shirt, Roxas wears long black pants that flare out ever so slightly at the ends and come over his black shoes which are black tennis shoes. These shoes are very similar to the shoes worn by Sora in Kingdom Hearts I, but they are black with gray soles and blue highlights. The shoes also have a very shiny silver zipper that travels up the middle of each shoe.
His normal clothing (outside of the Organization in Twilight Town which he no longer wears or is aware of) consists of a white short sleeved jacket with black and white checkered squares at the seems of the sleeves and just above the middle of the torso, the reverse side is red. Under, he has another zip-up jacket-like article which is black and probably has no sleeves. On the zipper of the black jacket is one of Roxas' 'symbols' similar to Sora's crown necklace. He wears dark gray pants that have snapped on attachments starting at the knees which are very light gray and are cuffed at the ends. His shoes are a dark steel gray with red strappings. For accessories, Roxas wears one black and one white ring on his left hand, index and middle fingers. Also, he wears a black and white checkered bracelet.
Roxas does not have access to his old Twilight Town attire.
Personality:
Roxas has the ability to feel and express emotions, unlike any other Nobody who just pretend to have emotions. This is due to the fact that be posses the heart of Ventus. His emotions are very similar to Sora's.
Roxas wishes to have his own identity and tries to cut himself off from Sora. He does not want to be referred to as "Sora's other" and searches desperately for his own destiny. He longs to befriend the kids in Twilight Town because he feels he could have a normal life. He becomes very frustrated when DiZ attempts to get Roxas to rejoin Sora. Roxas does eventually accept being a part of Sora. After he battles Sora in The World That Never Was he turns to Sora and says "you make a good other" before he vanishes.
Roxas has a short temper, is aggressive and stands up for himself. He is quickly angered which has led him to destroy DiZ's computer with continually slashing at it. When he is angered, he focuses on venting that anger instead of trying to solve it with reason. He is very confident and arrogant which is shown as he battles Riku. He tells Riku that he cannot be defeated and he seems to fight with rage and anger and somewhat carelessly. Roxas knows that he's very powerful because he wields a Keyblade and he tends to not think as carefully as he should about his battle moves.
Roxas likes to take control of the problems at hand and does not just let things happen. He gets involved and tries to solve everything he can which makes him a very independent individual. He runs off looking for his purpose and his destiny with the Keyblade. Axel offered to lend him hand, but Roxas merely ignored him. He realized that the Organization was only interested in him because he possessed the Keyblade and that if he left to find himself, no one would miss him.
But like Sora, Roxas is a happier, cheerful and kind person within a group of friends. He cares deeply for the people around him and longs to be in a group where he is accepted. He does not share the bright outlook on life with Sora, but he does the best he can. He doesn't seem to enjoy his life much at first, but once he realizes his purpose, his outlook on life becomes brighter.
Roxas is known as Sora's smarter half. He can think through fighting styles and plan is approach unless he is angered. He is genuinely bright and a quick learner. But he does have times of arrogance and doesn't think through his moves enough.
Because Roxas no longer retains his older memories, he is referred to as slow and zombie-like by other members of the Organization. Axel has been reassigned to watch over Roxas to teach him the ropes and maybe spark some old memories. Roxas does question why he has the Keyblade, but he feels safe within the Organization and he pushes himself to be the best member he can be.

Background:
When Sora stabbed his heart with the Keyblade of People's Hearts, Roxas as born as a result of Sora becoming a Heartless. Roxas retained some of Sora's heart and Ventus' heart.
He was born in Twilight Town where Xemnas found him and gave him hiss name. Xemnas welcomed Roxas into Organization XIII offering answers to Roxas' many questions. Because Roxas has no memories, he is like a child and is soon placed under Axel's care. These two quickly become friends and visit Twilight Town on a regular basis. Roxas spots three children who live in the town and longs to befriend them.
Roxas is placed in charge of Xion, the newest Organization member, when Axel is sent off to Castle Oblivion. Xion and Roxas become good friends and Xion reveals that she can also wield a Keyblade. Roxas falls into a coma for a few weeks as Namine beings working to fix Sora's memories. After he wakes, Roxas begins to question why he has the Keyblade and he begins to doubt the Organization's motives. As Roxas becomes frustrated about his unanswered questions, he finds that Xion has left the Organization and is quick to follow her example. He leaves the Nobodies which deeply hurts Axel.
As Roxas is exploring Twilight Town, he finds Xion who has answered her questions about her existence. She finds that she was created by Xemnas from Sora's leaked memories. Roxas battles Xion and wins, but he quickly forgets everything about her.
As she dies, Xion reveals the Organization's true motives and he suddenly remembers her. He then gains the ability to dual wield. Roxas decides to try and find Sora to answer his questions and he decides to release Kingdom Hearts at Xion's request. He sets off to find Axel, but is attacked at Memory's Skyscraper. Roxas is attacked by many Neoshadows, but Riku shows up and they finish them off easily. The two quickly turn on each other and Riku taunts Roxas about Sora. Riku becomes Ansem, the Seeker of Darkness and fights Roxas until he becomes unconscious. This is when DiZ appears and takes Roxas back to Twilight Town where he plans to merge Roxas and Sora. To keep Roxas safe, he places him in a virtual Twilight Town where he lives and normal life without his memories.
As Namine nears the completion of Sora's memories, Roxas begins to remember his past and he is also able to wield a Keyblade. Axel finds him in the virtual town and starts explaining Roxas' past. Frustrated and confused, Roxas finally gives in and agrees to become part of Sora once more. Axel becomes determined to turn Sora into a Heartless so Roxas can be reborn, but as he dies, he regrets this decision. Sora and Roxas also have an intense battle in the World That Never Was with Sora ending up as the winner.
Roxas has recently been removed from Sora's body by the leader of Organization XIII, Xemnas, and now walks among their ranks once again. He does not hold any of his past memories, of his friends in Twilight Town or even his other, Sora. He acts as he did when he was first born from Sora. He is under the watch of Axel and is able to dual wield and perform simple magic.
Role Playing Sample:
Roxas woke with a jolt. His breathing was coming in rapid gasps and beads of sweat were forming on his forehead. He kicked the blankets off of his small bed and sighed heavily, trying to regain control of his breathing. Slowly putting his head in his hands, he closed his icy blue eyes again. His mind was reeling...he kept seeing flashes of his dream reappear which just made his mind pound harder. Who was this boy whom also wielded the Keyblade? Why did Roxas keep dreaming of him every night? It was as if Roxas was looking through the boy's eyes...but he was only seeing small bits and pieces of memory; he never saw an entire scenario.
Unable to calm his mind, Roxas slowly got up from his bed and tip-toed to the door of his room. Axel, his best friend, was sleeping in a bed on the opposite side of the room from Roxas. The last thing he wanted to do was wake the fiery Nobody from his deep sleep. With great skill, Roxas pried the door open without making much sound and headed down the hallway. He caught himself looking at the great white walls around him that were dotted with paintings of the other Organization members. No matter how many times he walked these halls, he could not shake the feeling of having been there before in another life.
Roxas pushed his way into a dark room that was filled with cupboards and counter tops, otherwise known as the kitchen. He propped himself up on a white stool and laid his face against the cool surface of the counter. His body temperature was still very high and he was still sweating.
He couldn't take anymore of these dreams. They were slowly driving him insane. Whenever he asked questions about the Keyblade he wielded, no one would give him a straight answer. No one seemed to know why he had it and why it had only chosen him. Roxas knew he was very different from anyone else in the Organization. He seemed to able to feel emotions unlike the others. He often was asked to describe how his emotions felt to the others, how they controlled his decisions and what triggered them.
He felt like everyone knew everything about him and he knew almost nothing about himself. When would he finally get the answers he so desperately longed for?
Other: I decided to cut the history short because it was very long and the only really important parts of Roxas' life took place while he was in the Organization.
Also, Roxas is unable to perform powers of darkness because he has not had the time to learn them. His heart is also not full of darkness making those powers difficult to possess.
